The Peru Belmond Andean Explorer is a South American luxury sleeper train between Cusco and Puno, “Lake Titicaca,” and the white city of Arequipa. It is a luxury experience, and Belmond has succeeded in creating a unique travel experience that combines five-star luxury with exciting attractions and authentic experiences in this beautiful region of Peru.
This is an overnight train journey lasting one or two nights. Four rooms are available: the fun school and the good old school, where the long sofa converts to the upper and lower beds at night; the twin room; or the large school with two beds and two small beds.
As you would expect, every element of this luxury project is impeccable, from the Peruvian decor, including alpaca throws and Andean fabrics, to the bathroom’s comfort with air conditioning. Oxygen in each room to help you get to the top. (It is one of the tallest trains in the world, after all!).
The train has two dining cars, each with a team of chefs who will treat you to gourmet meals during your journey. These menus are designed by one of Peru’s greatest chefs and are inspired by the region’s diversity and variety of Andean products.
