Sacred Valley Private Tour with Kondor Path Tours—A direct tour operator
7:30 AM – Cusco Hotel Pickup: Your private Kondor Path Tour guide and driver will meet you at your Cusco hotel in the morning. Get comfortable in our vehicle as we depart for the Sacred Valley, heading toward Pisac. Enjoy views of the countryside as the city gives way to rural farmland and mountains. (Pickup time is flexible upon request.)
8:30 AM – Taray Viewpoint: Before you get to Pisac Ruins, stop at Mirador de Taray. This is a beautiful lookout over the Sacred Valley of the Incas in Peru. Gaze upon patchwork fields and the Urubamba River winding through the valley floor, framed by towering peaks. This stunning viewpoint offers a perfect vantage point to appreciate the grandeur and beauty of the Inca Valley. It’s also a great spot for photos.
9:00 AM – Pisac Inca Ruins: Arrive at the Pisac archaeological park, perched on a mountainside. Explore impressive Inca terraces carved into the slopes and wander through ancient temples and dwellings. Your guide will illuminate the site’s significance—from the sun temple to the ceremonial baths. Take in spectacular vistas of the valley below as you learn about Pisac’s role in Inca civilization.
10:30 AM – Pisac Town & Market: Descend into Pisac town, a charming village where colonial and Inca influences blend. Walk through the Pisac Market, one of the most famous crafts markets in the region. Colorful stalls overflow with handmade goods: alpaca wool sweaters, woven blankets, pottery, paintings, and more. You’ll have time to browse, shop, and perhaps practice your bargaining skills with local vendors. It’s a lively cultural experience!
Noon – Urubamba (Lunch Break):
We continue driving through the beautiful valley. Our destination is Urubamba, the largest town in the Sacred Valley. Here we’ll take a break for lunch. Lunch is not included, but your guide will recommend trusted restaurants (from Peruvian buffets to farm-to-table eateries). Enjoy a relaxing meal with Peruvian dishes. You might try lomo saltado (stir-fried beef) or trucha frita (fried trout). Take some time to think about what you discovered this morning. (Vegetarian and vegan options are readily available.)
1:30 PM – Ollantaytambo Fortress: After lunch, travel to Ollantaytambo. This charming Inca town has original stone streets and waterways. Here, you will explore the Ollantaytambo fortress and temple complex. It is one of the most famous sites in the Sacred Valley. Climb the stone steps to reach the Sun Temple at the top. Enjoy the huge carved rocks that the Incas brought from far away. From above, you can admire the town’s layout, which still follows an Inca grid. Look for the Inca storehouses high on the mountain face. Your guide will share the dramatic history of Ollantaytambo, including battles won and lost against the Spanish conquistadors.
3:30 PM – Chinchero Ruins & Weaving Center: On our way back to Cusco, we stop at Chinchero. This highland town is renowned for its rich cultural heritage. Visit the Chinchero archaeological site. It has Inca terraces and the ruins of royal estates. You can also see a lovely colonial-era church built on an Inca temple. If it is open, you can look inside to see its beautifully painted ceilings. There is a small entry fee. Chinchero is famed for textiles, so we’ll also stop at a community weaving cooperative. Here, local weavers demonstrate how they clean wool, create natural dyes from plants, and hand-weave intricate patterns. You will have the opportunity to meet local Chinchero artisans. You can see the skill involved in this old Inca craft.
5:30 PM – Return to Cusco: After a full day of exploration, relax in the vehicle for the drive back to Cusco. We’ll ascend out of the valley and arrive at your hotel around 6:00 PM (traffic dependent). Drop-off at your hotel, residence, Airbnb, or another central location in Cusco is included. By evening, you’ll be back in the city with wonderful memories and photos of your Sacred Valley adventure!
Optional: If you prefer, we can conclude the tour in Ollantaytambo instead of returning to Cusco. This is great if you plan to take an evening train to Machu Picchu or stay overnight in the Sacred Valley. Just let us know in advance, and we can accommodate this at no extra cost.
One of the best aspects of a private tour is flexibility! Here are some ways you can customize your Sacred Valley day trip with us:
Add Machu Picchu: Make the most of your time in Peru by adding Machu Picchu to your itinerary. You cannot visit Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley on the same day. However, we can set up a 2-day tour for you. Spend Day 1 exploring the Sacred Valley. Stay overnight in Ollantaytambo. Take an early train to Machu Picchu on Day 2. Check out our 2-Day Sacred Valley & Machu Picchu Tour for a great experience. You can also request a custom package. We’re happy to help!
Adventure Activities: Seeking some adrenaline? Let us know if you’d like to incorporate adventure sports in the Sacred Valley.
We can plan some fun activities.
Here are a few options:
(Additional costs or an extra day may apply for certain activities.) Your tour can be as thrilling or as relaxed as you wish.
Special Requests: Do you have a particular interest or destination in mind? Want to stop for a short hike, visit the Maras salt mines, or see a specific village? Traveling with kids or celebrating a special occasion? We can adjust the schedule, include a picnic, arrange a photographer, or add a stop at a chicha (corn beer) brewery—you name it! This is your day trip, and we strive to make it perfect for you.
Tip: If you have more than one day in the region, we highly recommend spending a night in the Sacred Valley. This lets you explore at a slower pace. You can enjoy an evening in the peaceful valley. It also helps you adjust to the altitude by sleeping lower than Cusco. Ask us about adding an overnight stay or combining the Sacred Valley tour with other destinations.

If you forget something, don’t worry. You can purchase items such as hats, ponchos, and water from vendors along the way or at the designated sites. Your guide will assist if needed.)
This is a 100% private tour. Only you and your party will participate, plus our guide and driver.
We do not combine separate bookings into the same tour, ensuring a personalized experience for each guest. This allows maximum flexibility for your schedule and interests.
Absolutely! One of the top benefits of a private tour is the flexibility it offers. The outlined itinerary covers the popular highlights (Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Chinchero, etc.).
Still, you are free to spend more time at one place and less at another, or even add an extra stop if time permits. Discuss your interests with your guide.
If you enjoy hiking, we can add a short trail walk to your itinerary. If you love shopping, we can spend more time at the market. We want to craft the day to suit.
The full-day tour visits the Pisac ruins, Ollantaytambo Fortress, and Chinchero ruins. These are three key archaeological sites in the Sacred Valley.
Additionally, we stop at the Pisac market and a Chinchero weaving center for cultural experiences. The Taray panoramic viewpoint is also included. If you would like to visit other places, such as Maras, Moray, or other villages, please let us know in advance.
We may change the route if we have enough time or suggest an alternative, more comprehensive plan.
Machu Picchu is not easily accessible. It is located beyond the Sacred Valley. You usually need a train ride and an extra day of travel. However, you can combine the Sacred Valley tour with a visit to Machu Picchu as a separate excursion. Many travelers visit the Sacred Valley as a day trip, then travel to Machu Picchu the next day.
We offer a 2-day tour of the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. On Day 1, we explore the Sacred Valley. Day 2 is all about Machu Picchu. If you’d like to add Machu Picchu, we can help arrange tickets, train, and everything you need for an extended trip.
Just ask us about the options! (Note: It’s highly recommended to see Machu Picchu while you’re in Cusco – it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.)
The Sacred Valley begins about 15 km (9 miles) north of Cusco. By road, Pisac (the first major stop) is roughly 45 minutes to 1 hour from Cusco. We will drive you in our private vehicle from Cusco into the valley.
The roads are paved and scenic, passing through mountain passes and small communities. Throughout the day, we’ll handle all your transportation between sites. The longest stretch of driving is returning from Chinchero to Cusco (about 40 minutes).
The stops break up the drives, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to stretch your legs and enjoy the views.
Cusco sits at about 3,400 m (11,150 ft). The Sacred Valley is located at a lower elevation than Cusco. It ranges from 2,800 m (9,200 ft) at the valley floor in Urubamba and Ollantaytambo.
Its highest points, like Chinchero, reach 3,800 m (12,500 ft). Many people find relief going to the valley if they’ve felt Cusco’s altitude. That said, you will be walking around ruins at an elevation of 3,000+ meters, which can be tiring.
We recommend spending at least a day or two in Cusco to acclimatize before doing the Sacred Valley tour. During the tour, please proceed at a slow pace. Drink plenty of water. Let your guide know if you feel any discomfort.
We carry an oxygen tank and a first aid kit for emergencies. In general, most visitors handle the Sacred Valley well, especially if they’ve adjusted to Cusco’s altitude first.
The Sacred Valley remains open year-round, offering a beautiful sight to behold at all times. The dry season runs from April to October. This time is usually the best for visiting. The days are sunny, and the temperatures are mild.
However, it can be chilly in the early morning or at night. This is also the peak tourist season. The rainy season lasts from November to March. It brings afternoon showers and green landscapes with wildflowers.
This time is also less crowded. Even in the rainy season, mornings are often clear. When traveling from December to February, be prepared for rain and flexible expectations.
In summary, April, May, September, and October usually have good weather and fewer crowds. However, any time of year can be special. We run this tour every day of the year.
Yes! Our private Sacred Valley tour is excellent for families. Kids are welcome and often love exploring ruins. They can also spot llamas or alpacas near Pisac and Ollantaytambo. A private tour is perfect for families.
You can go slower, take breaks, and change the day to keep kids happy. Our guides have experience working with families and can make the history fun and engaging for younger travelers. We recommend children 5 and above for the full-day tour. (Younger kids are allowed, of course, but a long day of touring can be tiring for toddlers.) Be sure to bring sun protection and snacks for the kids.
Child car seats can be provided in the vehicle upon request. Also, keep in mind that children under 10 often get discounts on entrance tickets (like the Boleto Turístico). We will help arrange that on the day.
Yes, we provide English-speaking guides for this tour. All our main guides speak both Spanish and English. Some also speak other languages. Please let us know if you have any special requests.
If you want a tour in Spanish or another language, we can set that up as well, depending on the guide’s availability. Communication won’t be an issue – our team is very experienced with international travelers.
Additionally, our drivers typically speak Spanish and some English. Your guide will explain everything at the sites. They can also help you translate when you talk to locals, such as at the market or weaving center.
No, entrance fees are not included (this is standard for nearly all tours in Cusco). As mentioned above, you will need to purchase the tourist ticket (Boleto Turístico) for the Sacred Valley sites. The cost is 70 soles per person for a partial ticket.
This ticket grants entry to Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Chinchero, and Moray if you visit them within 2 days. If you have a full Cusco tourist ticket, it costs 130 soles and is valid for 10 days.
This ticket will also grant you access to the Sacred Valley. We will help you obtain the required tickets on the morning of the tour – it’s easy. Just bring cash (soles) for tickets.
Other sites, like the Chinchero church (5 soles) or the Maras salt mines (10 soles), are optional. You can pay in cash at the entrance if you choose to visit.
Lunch is not included in the base price, giving you the freedom to choose your dining preference in Urubamba. We will take you to a recommended restaurant. Most travelers enjoy a buffet lunch featuring a variety of Peruvian dishes. You can also choose to order from the menu.
Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets can be accommodated. Please inform your guide of any dietary restrictions you may have. They will make sure the restaurant prepares something suitable for you.
Peruvian cuisine is very diverse. It offers a variety of options, including grains, vegetables, and meat. If you prefer to bring your own snacks or a packed lunch, that’s fine too. Just let us know your plan.
Booking is easy! You can reserve online on our website. Click “Book Now” and follow the steps to select your preferred date and group size. You can also email us at info@kondorpathtours.com with your desired date and number of people. A deposit is usually required to confirm the tour.
If you have any questions before booking, please don’t hesitate to contact us via email or WhatsApp. We respond quickly and are happy to help. We recommend booking at least a few weeks in advance, especially in the high season (May–Sept), to secure your preferred date.
If you have a last-minute request, please don’t hesitate to check with us. We can often help with short-notice requests, depending on guide availability. Your adventure is just a few clicks away!
We understand that travel plans can change. Our cancellation policy will be given when you book. It usually allows changes or cancellations with reasonable notice, often a few days.
There is no heavy penalty, but you may lose any third-party fees, such as train tickets to Machu Picchu. If you need to change the tour date or adjust the number of people, please contact us as soon as possible.
We will do our best to accommodate you. We are flexible and customer-focused – your satisfaction is our top priority. If you encounter any unexpected issues, such as flight delays or illness, please notify us. We will help you find a solution.
It’s not required to carry your passport during the Sacred Valley tour itself, but it’s wise to have some form of ID. A photocopy or digital copy of your passport or driver’s license is a good idea for ID.
If you are visiting Machu Picchu or taking the train, you will need a passport. However, for Sacred Valley sites, a passport is not typically required – only the entry tickets are needed. It’s always a good idea to have identification in case of an emergency.
If you have a student card (ISIC) and plan to use it for discounts, bring that as well. Note, however, that the standard Sacred Valley ticket doesn’t offer student rates (only minors).
We enjoy surprising our guests with little details. This could be offering a taste of local fruit in season. We might also point out hidden Inca carvings that many visitors miss. Or we can show you the best angle for photos.
Because it’s a private tour, we can do these extra things. If time permits, your guide might add a bonus stop. You could visit a cooperative to see alpacas and llamas up close and even feed them. You could also visit a chichería.
This is a local corn beer house. You can see how they make the beer using traditional methods. These are not guaranteed on every tour. It depends on the day’s flow and your interests. However, we always try to make your experience memorable and unique!
The Sacred Valley of the Incas is located 15 kilometers northeast of Cusco. A drive to one of the nearest villages will take about 40 minutes. From there, you can move to the other villages in the valley.
Spend at least one night in the Sacred Valley in Peru.
Every day, more tourists come to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. This increases the number of hotels in Cusco. Luxury hotels are often built on old farms and cornfields, blending harmoniously with the surrounding scenic nature.
We also found a terrifying hotel perched on a cliff 400 meters above the Urubamba River. There are also a variety of accommodations to suit all tastes and budgets.
