Direct Licensed Operator

What Makes Us the Travel Agency of Choice in Peru?

At Kondor Path Tours, we’re a fully licensed Inca Trail operator. Not many operators hold this official MINCETUR & SERNANP accreditation, which is why they are unable to run direct Inca Trail trekking tours without third-party middlemen.

Another distinction that gives us an edge over other Peruvian tour operators is that we take 100% ownership of all aspects of our treks and tours. We don’t farm you out to third parties. Our team is beside you every step of the way – your adventure starts and ends with us.

What are you waiting for? Join us to experience a trek or a tour filled with unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime.

A Personal Welcome

A Message from Our Founder & General Manager

Dear Traveler,

When I founded Kondor Path Tours in 2012, after more than 18 years guiding visitors through the rugged trails and archaeological wonders of Peru, I had a clear vision: to provide travelers with honest advice, professional service, and deeply meaningful journeys led by passionate local people who was born and raised in these mountains.

What began as a local guide’s dream has grown into a trusted family serving travelers from all around the world. Over the years, we’ve learned that every visitor is unique. Whether you come seeking the high-altitude challenge of the Classic Inca Trail or Salkantay Trek, or prefer discovering ancient Inca ruins, colorful weaving markets, and breathtaking valleys at a gentler pace, we never believe in a “one-size-fits-all” itinerary.

“We don’t simply organize tours – we help you experience the soul of Peru through real local knowledge, authentic human connection, and a genuine passion for our heritage.”

Above all, we practice tourism that respects our delicate ecosystems and treats our dedicated Quechua porters, mountain cooks, and local guides with the dignity, fair living wages, and care they deserve. My team and I would be honored to welcome you to our home in Cusco and help you create memories that will stay with you forever.

Warmest regards from the Andes,

Fernando L. Santa Cruz

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your Machu Picchu and Andes adventure.

Yes! Kondor Path Tours is 100% locally owned and operated in Cusco, Peru. We are fully registered and authorized by MINCETUR, SERNANP, and GERCETUR. When you book with us, you are dealing directly with the local team that guides you on the trail, with no third-party markups.

Because the Peruvian government strictly limits the Inca Trail to 500 permits per day (including guides, cooks, and porters), permits for peak season (May through September) usually sell out 4 to 6 months in advance. We recommend reserving as early as possible.

We maintain an intimate small-group standard with an average of 4 to 8 travelers per guide, and a maximum of 8 participants. We also specialize in 100% private tours for couples, families, and private groups.

We accept secure payments online via PayPal, major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), and wire transfers. The remaining balance can be paid in Cusco prior to your tour departure.

We recommend arriving in Cusco (3,400 m / 11,150 ft) at least 2 days before any multi-day trek. During your trek, our guides carry first aid kits, emergency oxygen tanks, and pulse oximeters, monitoring your acclimatization daily.

Absolutely! Our professional expedition cooks prepare fresh meals daily and easily accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, kosher-style, and allergen-sensitive diets at no extra charge.

The dry season from April to October offers clear skies, pleasant sunny days, and cooler nights. The green season (November to March) features lush landscapes, fewer crowds, and occasional afternoon rain showers.

We provide four-season Eureka/Doite tents, dining tents with tables and chairs, chemical toilet tents, duffle bags for your personal items (carried by porters up to 7kg/15lbs), foam sleeping pads, and purified drinking water.
