ITINERARY

DAY 1

Machupicchu from Ollantaytambo-Cusco

Machu Picchu carries just a daypack or minimal luggage.

At 5:10, we will pick you up at your hotel to start the trip to the railway facilities of the Inca Rail train company to start the train trip through Ollantaytambo. Then, we descend towards the Urubamba River, bordering the Andes mountain range, until we reach the jungle heights of Machupicchu Pueblo. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, our resident guide waited for the group to meet at the railway station to go to the bus station and start the vehicular trip to the only Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, where no one arrived until 1911.

  • Bring your passport to show to the train service and MP main gate.

Explore the Inca citadel for two hours, walking and taking many photos to complete the circuit. Then we go to Aguas Calientes to board the train service to Poroy station. In Poroy, our vehicle driver waits for the group to go to Cusco. We will leave them at their respective hotels.

DAY 2

A trip to the rainbow mountain after exploring Machu Picchu

Activities start with pick-up from your hotel at 05:00. We travel southwest of the city for two hours until we reach the town of Cusipata, where we take a detour and go along the dirt road until the end of the highway.

We walk for about 5 minutes until we reach the horses and start riding them with an American saddle adapted to the Andean style. The horses of the Andes take us to the foothills of Rainbow Mountain, and we will only have to walk for about 20 minutes to enjoy the panoramic views of Rainbow Mountain. We have categorized this circuit as THE ROMANTIC TOUR for visiting two wonders: Machu Picchu and the beautiful, colorful, psychedelic mountain of Vinicuna.

The Rainbow Mountain Trek is a moderate-to-challenging trek. The tour requires a demanding ascent of more than 5,100 meters.

The Rainbow Mountain Trek is best done between April and December when Peru is in its dry season.

The Rainbow Mountain Trek usually takes one day. There are, however, longer hikes that can last up to three days.

Ensure you have warm clothing, hiking boots, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, a drinking water bottle, and a digital camera.
