DAY 1

ARRIVAL TO CUSCO (transfer service)

Arrive in Cusco in the morning, have a free afternoon, or explore the center of Cusco.

Visitors must be inside the airport two hours before the departure of their flights, according to the “general flight regulations of Peru.” Upon arrival at the Cusco airport, go to the meeting area with our guides and drivers to carry out the respective transfer service to your hotels. “We recommend the hotels in the Cusco center to be able to walk and take pictures.”

In the afternoon, the photographers have free time to rest in their hotels or look for unique images of the center of Cusco, the cathedral of Cusco, the stone of the 12 angles, the San Blas neighborhood, the traditional market of San Pedro, etc.

DAY 2

CUSCO TOUR FULL DAY

The photographic exploration is through the ruins of Sacsayhuaman and its surroundings.

We start activities at 09:30; we believe it is an ideal time because the city of Cusco rises considerably. “It is important on the first day to rest as much as possible to adapt to the heights.”

Explore:

  • The viewpoint of San Cristóbal with a view towards the center of Cusco
  • Sacsayhuaman
  • Qenqo Grande
  • Puca Pucara
  • Tambomachay

Development of tourist activities: Our Kondor Path Tours team arrives at the hotel to start the photographic tour of the city of Cusco and the outskirts.

Our first visit is to the San Cristóbal viewpoint. From this perspective, you can see the main square of Cusco, other courts, colonial houses, and the solar enclosure of the founders of the Inca empire, Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo.

We continue the exploration to reach the Inca complex of Sacsayhuaman; the stone buildings are enormous, and the panoramic and angular photos will be spectacular. Since the complex is quite large, we will have several photographic focuses. We will walk through almost all the crucial sectors of Sacsayhuaman.

As an integral part of the tour, we have smaller ruins like Pucapucara, Qenqo, and Tambomachay. We will visit them all, looking for unique photographic angles to take fantastic images. That is why we will spend the whole day exploring the Inca temples and enjoying the great outdoors of the Andes.

DAY 3

TOUR SACRED VALLEY – PM TRAIN TO MACHU PICCHU PUEBLO

Several natural viewpoints make the photos of Pisac and the Sacred Valley unique.

We leave the city of Cusco at 07:00 in the direction of the Sacred Valley of the Incas to explore spectacular archaeological parks with panoramic views of the Andes and streams. We believe the best way to see and explore a place is with a camera and a trained eye.

Explore:

  • Pisac viewpoint.
  • Inca Pisac.
  • Colonial Pisac.
  • Ollantaytambo Ruins

Before reaching the Inca Valley, we will make two stops at the Taray viewpoints. We have panoramic views of the vast Andes mountain range with some glaciers from the first viewpoint. We will also observe colonial populations with corn plantations around the Urubamba River. From the second viewpoint, we have impressive views of the colonial town of Pisac and the magnificent Inca-built terraces that border different parts of the mountain.

We continue the trip until we reach the Cuyo Chico viewpoint to observe other Inca platforms containing floating steps with Inca paths at the other end of the mountain. Being in the same main constructions, we will have different surprising photographic views of the Cuyo Chico Valley and the Inca constructions at their best.

It is essential to mention that we will conduct a personal exploration through the traditional Inca market of the colonial town of Pisac. There are many souvenir vendors; the stores are very colorful, and each photographer can take photos as they please to combine beautiful expressions of colors and shadows.

We explore the archaeological group of Ollantaytambo; passing through the square, we will have a short walk through the Inca streets where the constructions of the houses link to the roads having a spectacular symmetry. The photographic view within the route to observe is the Inca complex itself.

Around 15:30, we board the train service at the Ollantaytambo train station; after 1 hour and 40 minutes of travel, we arrive at the jungle of Machupicchu. We board the tourist bus to the magnificent architectural construction of Machu Picchu to take panoramic photos from a high viewpoint, watch the sunset, and capture the colors and photographic nuances of Machu Picchu in the fullness of the afternoon.

The sunrise at Machu Picchu is unique. Walkthrough the Machu Picchu Ruins, taking incredible photographs.

The tour guide comes to the hotel at 05:20, so the explorers board the bus service minutes later to Machu Picchu. Sunrise is around 06:55; at that time, the photographers will be around the Inca viewpoint, where you have the complete view of Machu Picchu and thus observe the sunrise and how it covers the Inca citadel.

Enjoy a two-and-a-half-hour photographic tour inside the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, exploring the most outstanding sites. In Machu Picchu, we have five tourist circuits, and circuits 1 and 2 are the best. “There is no free time in Machu Picchu due to the new regulations of Machu Picchu.”

You have two entrance tickets to Machu Picchu within the Machu Picchu tour package for the Machu Picchu sunrise and the Machu Picchu guided tour.

For this reason, we will try to buy tickets for tourist circuits 1 and 2 so you can enjoy your photographic visit to Machu Picchu. In the afternoon, we board the train service back to Cusco.

In the afternoon, return to the city of Cusco.

This information means you should bring along a small backpack to Machu Picchu. You can leave your main luggage at your hotel (Cuzco or Ollantaytambo).

The train service will require each passenger boarding a train to submit their train ticket and original passport. Without this, the passenger will not be able to board the train for their own safety.

Wonderul site, great tour operator and excellent guide We had an evening flight so wanted to do something during the first half of the day, really glad we picked this half-day tour of the Sillustani ruins. The tour agent (Kondor Path Tours) was very flexible about our pickup time and dropoff options, so that really helped. We were able to arrange a later pickup in the morning that included all our luggage and then they dropped us off at the Juliaca airport after the tour. But the Sillustani towers themselves are a real treat to see and learn about all their history. The site itself is very serene and beautiful, with the lake in the background from the main viewpoint. Our tour guide (Richy/Ricardo) was excellent and very helpful and knowledgeable. He gave us not only the ancient history of Sillustani and the adjoining areas, but also a more contemporary history of Peru and the Puno region I have to add that he went over and above by even helping us to check our bags in at JUL airport!

Maras and Moray + Pachamanca Easily the best tour experience I had during my trip to Peru. I highly recommend Kondor Tours as the customer service is top-notch. James responded to my queries almost instantly each time and was very helpful. We were even treated to a can of cusquenia beer each when we visited the office! Our guide Alfredo was absolutely amazing and we were fortunate to have him as our guide for the tour. He is very passionate about his job and shared so much valuable information with us. He has a very candid character and we were very comfortable throughout! I highly recommend requesting for him as your guide (the best we had while touring Peru for 3 weeks). Also, I would say opting in for and additional traditional peruvian pachamanca meal experience must not be missed. The community people were very warm and gracious hosts and it is eye opening to witness the preparation of such a traditional feast normally done only for special occasions like weddings. We even had time for dancing! Two thumbs up for sure!

3-day Choquequirao Trek We took a three-day private group trek to Choquequirao as a family of five. Kondor Path Tours organized a pick-up and drop-off in Urubamba instead of Cusco and did an extra stop at the Saywhite archeological site. Everything went very smoothly during the entire trip, meals and accommodation were as expected or better. The trek itself is quite demanding (particularly in three days), but the nature/ views/ Choquequirao/ dearth of tourists largely compensate. Anyway, we were looking for a physical challenge! Our guide Oron was great. Explaining, motivating, solving potential problems/ demands. We would definitely recommend Kondor Path Tours.

Alittle bit of everything We had a last minute change of plans when it came to our tour. We were supposed to visit the rainbow mountain but with the recent protesting we called to see if we could change last minute and they were very accommodating. Odon and Fernando were amazing! They took us to see multiple attractions and made us feel very at home. And kudos to Renee for the amazing driving. I would highly recommend using this company for a tour. We will definitely use them if we ever come back!

Family vacation Kondor path tours arranged a couple of private tours on our last vacation in Peru. Our first tour was the Rainbow Mountains and the next day we did the sacred Valley Tour. The administrative services were excellent, we met at our hotel the day before our tours and our head guide, Fredy, explained everything perfectly, including what to wear and bring for each tour. On the tour days, our guides (Fredy and Juan Carlos) and driver (Juan Carlos) were great! very knowledgeable, considerate about our party, always helpful and ready to answer questions and meet the expectations (completely different expectations because we had different ages in our party (from 11 to 69 years)) of each party member. The rainbow mountain is awesome and is is really helpful to go with a guide that knows about the area, but also about hiking!!!

Excellent guide who stays with you for the entire day The Vinicunca one-day horse tour was fantastic. The friendly and informative Freddy guided us for the entire bus ride and mountain trek. He knew where to stand to get the best photos and made everything fun and accommodating. The horse ride up made it much easier to enjoy the final hike. Lunch was large and tasty. Door to door service.
