My friend and I took a 2 day tour of the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu and couldn't have been happier with our experience with Kondor Path Tours! First off, one of the coordinators, Patricia, answered all my emails with an array of questions quickly and full of facts. She made us prepared to enjoy our trip to the fullest. Our actual tour guide, Boneth, was amazing! She was so knowledgable about everything Incan, but also such a fun person! She took unique pictures of us at each site and joked around with us like friends. The entire trip was so well coordinated, with all of our tickets and itineraries provided in nice envelope with a sit down explaination of our 2 day trip. It was tickets and a souvineir all in one. All in all, we are so happy with our experience and would recommend anyone to this company!

My friend and I chose the REVERSE Sacred Valley Tour to avoid the crowds. Our guide Efrain was thoroughly immersed and enthusiastic about all we were going to see that day. Efrain's talks were fascinating and tailored to our interests. Before our next tour, I got a virus on our day off. Patricia recommended a remedy, which worked. I was good to go on our next day tour of Pikillacta, which Patricia had kindly re-arranged to allow me time to get well. Our new tour guide, Wilfredo, was equally well-qualified, and highly informed. Between the two tours, we felt steeped in Incan history--their cosmology, deep honoring of the earth, their amazing ability to grow crops at 12,000 ft., irrigation artistry, their grand design abilities...and we were ready to see and appreciate Machu Picchu.

I had reserved a spot with another outfitter to hike the Classic Inca Trail, but decided to go 5 days early to do some day hikes and to better acclimate to the elevation. I ran across Kondor Path (mentioned in a blog) and sent them an inquiry about setting up 5 day hikes for me. Patricia Delgado responded promptly, and went above and beyond to help me set up the hikes, which she custom designed to meet my requests (a blend of archaeological, cultural, and the sacred). So I spent five days with Odon Quispe (my guide) and David Pontecil (our driver)....what wonderful companions...by the fifth day we felt like old friends. We visited Cusco South Valley on Saturday April 8, 2017 (Tipon, Pikillacta, Rumi Qolaq, "the Sistine Chapel of the Americas" at Andahuaylillas, and an authentic Cuy lunch....a very full day of wonderful sights!). On Sunday April 9, 2017 we visited the Piscac Ruins, and attended a magnificent and moving Palm Sunday procession at the church in town....the pageantry of the elders dressed in their traditional garb and young men blowing conch horns as a call to worship was a magnificent experience. That day we also visited Ancas Marka and the beautiful carving at Uno Orqo. Monday April 10 was a full day, with visits to Quillarumiyoc (Moonstone), Moray (circular terraces), Maras salt mines, Rachi, Chinchero, and the beautiful sacred spot of Naupa Iglesia- I don't know how we fit it all in, but we did! A truly memorable day! Tuesday April 11 was designed to test my fitness at elevation as Odon and I climbed from Lamay up to Huchuy Cusco (an elevation gain of around 3,000')....what a great site and what a great view! After the climb, we stopped back by the Pisac market and Odon helped me negotiate a very good price on some silver jewelry for my wife. My last day with Odon and David was the morning of Wednesday April 12 and we had leisurely visits to Tambo Machay, Puka Pucara, Qenqo, a non-tourist section of Sacsayhuaman (quarry area and Moon Temple) and the big market in Cusco. As I reflect back on these five days, I remain amazed at how much I was able to see and experience thanks to Kondor Path. I cannot speak highly enough at how professional, prompt and kind these folks were. There prices were very reasonable and well worth the experiences I enjoyed, thanks to them. I recommend Kondor Path without reservation! Will be happy to answer any questions- just message me on Facebook (John T. McCoppin).

We are a family of three (with a teenager) and we booked the Inca Trail Hike for 4 days. The staff were right there waiting at the airport and drove us to our hotel. They provided all the things they have indicated in their tour description. Our guide was fantastic. He knew exactly how to encourage us during our hike. We have amazing and very strong porters and expert chefs in our journey. The camp food was superb. We had more food than you can imagine. It was a door to door service. I have never been so impressed with the quality of service, friendly gestures and hospitality with the staff at Kondor Path. I highly recommend this company.

After comparing a number of tour companies, using Tripadvisor and more, I chose Kondor Path for our Sacred Valley experience and would recommend them to others. They were responsive and patient in long email exchanges, including when I changed our itinerary about a month before. And they were prompt, courteous and professional during our time together. Our flight from Lima was delayed five hours but they were there to welcome us in Cusco without complaint: Patricia, who did the planning, Eddie (Fernando) the guide and Brandon the driver. Over five days, they took excellent care of us all the way to helping us check in at the airport, adjusting as we requested. Eddie is personable, attentive, knowledgeable. He is a font of details, sometimes too much so. He introduced us to Chuta bread and Cuy guinea pig dishes. He also loves birding and often pointed out nifty critters

MACHUPICCHU BY TREN

Sergio O / 2017-03-31
