The excellent ratings are all true and well deserved! And let me tell you, it's been hard to find the right company for a solo traveler like me to get tours with. It seemed like my choice was either go with 29 other tourists or nothing at all since most companies only offer private tours for a minimum of 2 people. As time went on, though, I started disliking the thought of being on a bus of 30 tourists. On top of that, I wanted to hike Pinkuylluna (the granaries opposite the Ollantaytambo ruins) and it seemed that other companies like to stick to their ready-made itineraries, where Pinkuylluna is definitely not included. But not Kondor Path. The moment I asked about this from Patricia of the booking dept through chat, she didn't bat an eyelash and just told me the consequence (a visit to Chinchero would have to be removed or moved to another day). Everything with Kondor Path went smoothly. Patricia emailed promptly and regularly and came to see me on my 1st day of tour for balance payment and I was lucky to be introduced to Henry as my guide, who is a great companion and photographer, and Climaco as my driver, who is one of the best drivers I ever rode with (and cleaned the car all the time lol). I felt safe and cared for throughout. And like what others have said, I got to enjoy touring the sites before the hordes of other tourists arrived and I couldn't help but compare what I got to what they got: they didn't have their guides' full attention and were mostly left to their own devices after being given the history of the site and then they either get hurried or simply given a specific time to be back to their bus (I witnessed some running back to their bus). More importantly, I got to eat really good food at local eateries (polleria, pikanteria, a chifa restaurant) and wasn't forced to eat somewhere really touristy (I also got to eat really good helado on a whim). Since my experience was so good, I changed my tour on the 3rd day from a half day tour to a full day tour and Patricia came to see me early that morning, along with Fernando, who I'm happy to meet. If you are not on a tight budget, since these don't come cheap, then get a private tour and make sure to get it only with Kondor Path. It'll be one of the best decisions you make for your Cusco-Machu Picchu vacation and it'll be worth every penny.
