Machu Picchu Museum dynamically offers a cultural and historical tour through the various rooms where the archaeological collections are exhibited. It is the result of arduous research conducted over several years at the Machu Picchu archaeological site.

During the tour, the visitor will learn about the events that marked the sacred city.

The infographics, maps, panels, videos, and collection of pottery, lithics, metals, and other finds expose eight sequences: Machupicchu, the city among the mist—In the time machine—Propagating the story—A day in the continuity of Machupicchu—Interlacing the Amazon and the Andes—Between Findings and pieces of evidence—Ways to feel Machu Picchu—Ecology, flora, and fauna of the Historic Sanctuary of Machupicchu.

After visiting the site museum of Machu Picchu, visitors can tour the Botanical Garden, where native plants coexist. They will enjoy the birds singing, the sound of the Urubamba River, the fragrance of the vegetation, and the colors of the region’s most varied and beautiful flowers.

This museum is located at kilometer 112 of the railroad in Puente Ruinas, opposite the old train station, at the foot of Machupicchu Mountain, on the third platform, Inka. With a jungle climate, it finishes its descent at the edge of the River Urubamba, 2,000 meters above sea level.

Hours: Monday to Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
