The Only 4-Day Hybrid Combo Combining Inca Jungle + Short Inca Trail

The Inca Jungle Trek + Short Inca Trail 4 Days HYBRID Combo is the ONLY 4-day multi-day trek + Short Inca Trail permit combo in our catalog, welcoming children from age 7 while delivering three completely different trekking experiences.

Five reasons this HYBRID combo is unique:

1. The ONLY FAMILY-FRIENDLY 4-day trek combo — UNIQUE age 7+. Every other 4-day trek combo requires age 12-14+. This combo welcomes children from age 7 because physical demands are more moderate — Lucmabamba Pass 2,814m (vs Salkantay 4,630m) + jungle terrain + hotel comfort.

2. HYBRID 3-in-1 trek — 3 completely different ecosystems. Day 1 tropical jungle (fruit + coffee + coca at Santa María) + Day 2 Andean cloud forest (Lucmabamba → Llactapata Salkantay route) + Day 3 permit-only Inca sites (Chachabamba + Wiñaywayna + Sun Gate). Three trekking experiences that would normally require 3 separate tours.

3. Ministry of Culture Inca Trail permit + Sun Gate + Llactapata TWO MP views. Despite the jungle Day 1 approach, this combo delivers the full Short Inca Trail permit experience (Chachabamba + Wiñaywayna + Sun Gate + Guardian’s House 15-20 min) PLUS the Llactapata first MP view Day 2. Two different first-MP-view moments in one tour.

4. Cocalmayo Hot Springs 1h + Santa Teresa 2-star hotel INCLUDED Day 1. Unlike Salkantay 4-Day with extreme early 04:30 AM + Salkantay Pass 4,630m immediately, this combo starts with a jungle experience (05:00 AM) delivering Cocalmayo Hot Springs recovery Day 1 + comfortable Santa Teresa hotel Day 1 INCLUDED.

5. UNIQUE Day 3 logistics — 16 km walking from Aguas Calientes. Every other Short IT combo uses PeruRail Expedition 83P train from Ollantaytambo to Km 104. This combo is different — you walk 6 km upstream from Aguas Calientes to Km 104 (semi-flat riverside trail) THEN the standard 10 km Short IT. Unique 16 km / 7-hour walking adventure Day 3 — impossible in any other Short IT combo.

Itinerary

This hybrid 4-day itinerary combines the Inca Jungle route’s cloud forest and coffee-growing valleys — including the Lucmabamba Inca Trail and the Llactapata viewpoint — with an official Short Inca Trail permit, arriving at Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate rather than by bus alone. It’s built for travelers who want the Inca Jungle’s jungle scenery plus the authorized final approach that only permit holders get to experience.

The trek’s highest point, Llactapata’s ridge along the Lucmabamba Inca Trail, tops out at a modest 2,814 m on Day 2 — considerably lower than the high-altitude treks elsewhere in the region, meaning distance and terrain are the main physical factors here rather than thin air. With the walking largely completed by Day 2, the Short Inca Trail permit hike on Day 3 and the walk into Machu Picchu on Day 4 both take place at comfortable, low-altitude conditions.
