Machu Picchu Amazon Route
The Machu Picchu Amazon Route: the other alternative to reach Machu Picchu
There are three ways to get to Machu Picchu: the Inca Trail, the train trip through Ollantaytambo, and access by Hydroelectric. Each offers a different experience and varies in route and price.
When Machu Picchu reopened, and after government agencies determined that entrance to Machu Picchu would be free of charge, hundreds of tourists opted to use the Amazon Route to visit the world wonder.
As of Monday, August 1, 2022, tourists wishing to enter the Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary using the Amazon route access (Hydroelectric) will only be able to do so if they do so through authorized travel and tourism agencies registered on the virtual platform of the National Service of Natural Areas Protected by the State (Sernanp). And we must communicate to all our passengers that Our travel agency, Kondor Path Tours has the necessary licenses and authorizations to operate this novel route to the city of Machu Picchu.
