DAY 1

Arrival at Puerto Maldonado – Rainforest Garden – Rainforest by Night

GENERAL NOTE:

Activities and excursions can be chosen à la carte upon arrival at the ecolodge and are subject to change depending on the Amazon weather.

Arrive in Puerto Maldonado by air; upon landing at Puerto Maldonado airport, meet the guide and driver at the meeting area and say, “We will wait for you with a sign with your name inscribed.”

Transfer to the Capitanía pier to begin your Amazon adventure with a boat ride down the Madre de Dios River until you reach the ecolodge.

AFTERNOON STROLL THROUGH THE RAINFOREST

Enjoy a charming walk through the Amazon jungle, following intricate trails and exploring its biodiversity; venture out to discover the flora and fauna, with exotic sounds that inhabit this incredible ecosystem.

SAFARI RIDE IN SEARCH OF CAIMANS

Boat excursion on the Madre de Dios River at sunset in search of alligators on the banks of the river. Also, observe nocturnal mammals.

DAY 2

Sandoval Lake Expedition - The Canopy Walkway

Wake up to the sounds and comforting warmth of the jungle. Visit the enchanting Sandoval Lake in the Tambopata National Reserve in the morning. The tour involves a short boat ride to the Sandoval Lake checkpoint.

Enjoy a 40-minute walk of “3km” until you reach the crystalline lake in the shape of a meander within the reserve, exploring the vast Amazonian vegetation and fauna.

Hop aboard a wooden canoe for a leisurely paddling tour at Sandoval Lake and admire the enchanting panoramic views.

In the afternoon, near the ecolodge, venture down the canopy walkway. Observe the treetops, spotting birds flying over the visitors’ side.

From the top of the canopy walkway, you have an exceptional view of the Amazon jungle of southern Peru.

DAY 3

AM Parrot Clay Lick – Puerto Maldonado Out

• Enjoy your last spectacular excursion in the morning, watching the parakeets chatter on the clay lick.
• We leave the ecolodge at 10:00 a.m., heading to Puerto Maldonado to Padre Aldamiz airport.

What to Bring

• You must bring your original passport.
• Small backpack for Amazon activities.
• Insect repellent cream, repellent with more than 30% DEET!
• Cream sunblock.
• General: Dark clothing (camouflage to see the wildlife), long-sleeved shirts and t-shirts, long pants, lightweight shorts, short-sleeved t-shirts, a waterproof jacket, a sun hat, bath linen clothes, small towels, thick long socks, and trekking shoes
• Reusable water bottle.
• We recommend 8×40 or 10×50 binoculars for the macaw clay lick.
• All your personal hygiene needs. Extra toilet paper.
• A bit of money for staff tips (usually expected on tour)
