DAY 1

Cusco - Santa Maria (Bike Tour Experience).

We leave the city of Cusco towards the Sacred Valley and the Abra Malaga pass. Once we get to the Malaga Pass, we get ready to start our bicycle tour along the paved track until we reach the vicinity of Carrizales and Huaman Marca. We have lunch in the town of Santa Maria.

The places and microclimates are varied because we start the bike tour at the heights of the Andes and then gradually descend toward the Huiro jungle.

  • 07:00–08:30 Start the trip from Cusco to Ollantaytambo, “Sacred Valley.”
  • 08:30–09:00 Breakfast in the town of Ollantaytambo “NO INCLUSION.

DAY 2

Santa Maria to Santa Teresa (Trekking + Hot Springs).

We walk through the mountain jungle and the Inca Trail of Huaycayupana, passing coffee plantations. It does recommend bringing water, sunscreen, and mosquito repellent.

We will have an incredible experience observing a coffee demonstration and some animals in the area. Once we conquer the hiking pass of the Amazon Jungle Inca Trail, we begin to descend toward the native community of Quellomayo to have our local lunch.

We then continue the hike upriver to the local cable car to cross to the other side of the river. A few steps away are the beautiful thermal baths of Cocalmayo, an ideal place to relax for about two hours and enjoy an ice-cold drink. The last journey is made by local vehicle until we reach the town of Santa Teresa to go to our lodge

  • 07:00–12:00 Walk through the Inca Trail of the jungle.
  • 08:00–08:30 The demonstration of coffee in the hut is an hour’s hike up from the beginning of the Inca Trail.
  • 12:00–13:00 Lunch in the Quellomayo community on the banks of the Urubamba River
  • 13:00–16:30: Walk to the thermal baths of Cocalmayo.

DAY 3

Santa Teresa - Hike from Hydroelectric to Aguas Calientes

One of the morning activities is to cross from one side of the mountain to the other to experience the zipline; there are several cables so visitors can feel the adrenaline rush of flying like a condor. At the end of the zip line tour, we go by local transport to the Hidroeléctrica train station. From this sector, we begin our three-hour walk to the town of Aguas Calientes, following the path of the railway train. In different walk sectors, we will observe different panoramic angles of the enigmatic citadel of Machu Picchu.

Machu Picchu Guided Tour + Train to Ollantaytambo

At 07:00, the bus service from Machu Picchu Pueblo to Machu Picchu Ruins takes “25 minutes of travel.” Before entering Machu Picchu, we must personally present our ticket and passport. The guided tour takes approximately two hours to explore Machu Picchu’s Inca citadel fully.

  • 08:00 Entrance ticket to Machu Picchu through circuit No. 2 with a panoramic view of Machu Picchu
    • If the group requires another time, notify them before buying the tickets; you cannot change the entrance tickets, the time, or the visit date! The entrance tickets are not transferable to other people.”

The weather in the Inca Jungle changes a lot, especially on the first day; however, the weather is hot in Santa Maria, Santa Teresa, and Aguas Calientes.

All these towns are at a lower altitude than Cusco and are not above 2400 meters above sea level. The temperature varies during the year between 10°C and 25 °C. On the biking section, you should wear a raincoat.

4 Days Inca Jungle Trek to Machu Picchu: The best time to visit Machu Picchu through the Inca Jungle is between March and November.

Although it may seem like it, this biking section is not difficult, and we always recommend that our passengers experience riding a bike. All this to have a better experience. However, we recommend that our passengers have some biking experience.

No biking, rafting, or ziplining experience is necessary. But if you decide you can’t handle any more activities, you can let our guide know and do other activities, take an alternative route, or rest.

While it is true that the Inca Jungle Trek never sells out, it is necessary to make your reservation in advance to buy your tickets to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain.

These tickets sell out quickly, and booking is necessary approximately two months before departure. It is also essential to organize your trip with other activities and organize everything well.

In Santa Teresa-Cocalmayo, you will find the best hot springs in the area; it only costs 10 soles or 3.5 US dollars.

It is not that difficult. It is a medium-exercise hike. However, we recommend taking only what you need for the trek. A light backpack is more comfortable for hiking in this area.

This Inca Jungle adventure tour costs 100 or 230 US dollars. This is because sometimes you may need money for water, snacks, extra drinks, or any emergency.

It is a one-and-a-half-hour hike. The first part is 30 minutes flat, then a 1-hour climb to Machu Picchu.

The lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu, opens at 6:00 a.m. and closes at 5:00 p.m.

Usually, people stay at Machu Picchu for 2 hours and then prefer to go to Aguas Calientes for lunch or spend some time in town.
