DAY 1

Cusco: Hiking to Huchuy Qosqo Inca Trail

Land trip from Cusco to Qoricocha; hike to Huchuy Qosqo

We start the land trip from Cusco to the Qoricocha lagoon, located at the heights of Chinchero. We begin the walk until we reach the Tres Cruces pass, where we find the well-signposted path to descend to the ruins of Pucamarca, León Punku, and reach the spectacular Inca site of Huchuy Qosqo. Arriving at Huchuy Qosqo, we enter the Royal Inca Trail to have a magnificent entrance to the Temple of the Condor, with its esplanade facing the sacred valley.

As you ascend further, the ancient ruins of Huchuy Qosqo will gradually come into view, perched majestically on a mountainside. To end the Huchuy Qosqo Trek 2 Days tour package, we have a two-hour guided tour of Machu Picchu to try to understand the functionality of the last Inca citadel.

At 8:20, we board the shared bus service of the Consettur company to ascend the 500-meter mountain until we reach the entrance gates to the beautiful Inca citadel. Upon entering Machupicchu, we visit the watchman’s house or surroundings for a splendid view of the citadel. In the guided tour, we explore the functionality of the Inca stone constructions to understand the peculiarities, feelings,  religion, customs, and much more of the Inca legacy. In the afternoon, we return to Cusco via train and ground transportation.
