DAY 1

Cusco: Hike to Tres Cruces to Huchuy Qosqo

The activities of the Huchuy Qosqo walking circuit begin at 08:00 in the morning with pick-up service at the walkers’ respective hotels. We head northwest of Cusco, traveling for about one hour until the start of the trek, “Laguna Qoricocha.”

We have about 20 minutes to climb until we reach the Tres Cruces pass; from the top, the original Inca Trail begins to Huchuy Qosqo ruins. Just a 30-minute walk from the Pass, explore the ruins of Pucamarca, Leon Punku, and the Inca Trail built into the canyon of the main trail.

The ruins of Huchuy Qosqo present a royal Inca Trail with direct access to the central esplanade. The guided tour takes about 40 minutes to visit the three-story house; the entire Huchuy Qosqo complex also includes several Inca lodging houses, fountains, and an impressive series of agricultural terraces.
