Departing from Puno, the drive begins across the Altiplano, passing through Mañazo and the peaceful waters of Laguna Lagunillas. As the road climbs higher, you’ll notice the scenery shifting from open highland plains to dramatic mountain views.
The route continues toward Patapampa, the highest point of the journey, before descending into the Colca Valley. Along the way, you’ll pass through Chivay and traditional villages such as Yanque, Coporaque, and Maca before arriving at the iconic Cruz del Condor viewpoint.
After visiting the canyon, the journey continues toward Arequipa.
From Arequipa, the road gradually ascends into the Andean highlands, with a stop near Patapampa, where sweeping views of surrounding volcanoes stretch across the horizon.
The descent into the valley leads through Chivay and the traditional towns of Yanque, Coporaque, and Maca before reaching Cruz del Condor, the most famous lookout point in the canyon.
At the end of the visit, the return journey follows the road toward Puno.
