DAY 1

Cusco – Tinqui – Upis

Our expert guide will pick you up from your hotel at 06:00 a.m. to start the trip to Tinki, heading southwest from Cusco.

The drive south from Cusco is very picturesque as it passes through various colonial and Inca towns with a changing panorama typical of the Peruvian Andes.

We will continue our 6-Day Ausangate Trek to the Andean community of Tinqui; we will meet our team of muleteers and pack donkeys. We load all the mountain equipment of the Ausangate Trek for 6 Days and begin our adventure through the Andes of Peru. Our first hiking trail took approximately 3 hours at a moderate pace to adapt to the elevations of the Andes gradually.

The second segment of the walk takes 2 hours to reach UPIS to have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the thermal baths of Upis; it is essential to bring a bathing suit, “being inside the hot springs is an incredible feeling for a remote adventure.”

Today is one of the big days from Ausangate Trek 6 Days because we will climb our first pass of ARAPA (4850 meters or 15,915 feet). We will climb the mountain little by little until we conquer it to have two great panoramic views of contrast between the Andes, glaciers, snow-capped mountains, flora, and fauna of the Andean zone.

From the top and bottom of the trail, we have three areas of lagoons of different shades, such as reddish, green, and turquoise. For souvenir photos, count the headwaters of the great Amazonian rivers.

A few years ago, Rainbow Mountain became famous; we will visit it in an extra walk of 1 hour and a half, taking the additional path until we reach the top of the Rainbow Mountain 5050 meters / 16 568 feet in Ausangate Trek 6 Days. The best is that we hike the additional circuit towards the rainbow.

After appreciating and taking in enough of the colorful mountains, we return to the ANANTA HIKING TRAIL. From ANANTA, we continue our walk for an average of 03 hours until we reach Ausangate Qocha, 4,700 meters / 15,420 feet., and Palomani hiking pass to our base camp of Huchuy Pinaya. Today’s outdoor activities vary from appreciating or observing the great snow-capped Ausangate, such as the colorful Vinicunca trail, the Red Valley, or the pass with its descent to the camp; truly remote places ideal to de-stress from the routine to find ourselves on nature walks with picturesque landscapes.

Throughout the hike, we accompany Mother Nature’s silence in this part of the world with the inspiring landscape view of the unique panoramas of Ausangate. We find herds and herds of alpacas in their natural habitat, running towards the frozen mountains and inter-Andean valleys; the higher the Andean camelids are, the happier they are, laughing and jumping because it is their natural habitat. We can capture excellent panoramic views of the landscapes with alpacas of different types and styles.

We are nearing the end of our 6 Days Ausangate Hike vacation through the Peruvian Andes. WE BEGIN hiking for an average of 1 hour, arriving near the base and at the top of the mountain glacier. The Ausangate glacier is one of the essential mountains in South America because it is part of the source of freshwater to pass its waters through the Andes of Peru and other South American countries. For this reason, reaching this point in Ausangate is satisfactory for the whole group to take a couple of photographs.

During the afternoon, we will descend for approximately 5 hours towards and around the Qomer Qocha lagoon to conquer the last outdoor camp of Pacchanta. Alittle bit of everything We had a last minute change of plans when it came to our tour. We were supposed to visit the rainbow mountain but with the recent protesting we called to see if we could change last minute and they were very accommodating. Odon and Fernando were amazing! They took us to see multiple attractions and made us feel very at home. And kudos to Renee for the amazing driving. I would highly recommend using this company for a tour. We will definitely use them if we ever come back!

Family vacation Kondor path tours arranged a couple of private tours on our last vacation in Peru. Our first tour was the Rainbow Mountains and the next day we did the sacred Valley Tour. The administrative services were excellent, we met at our hotel the day before our tours and our head guide, Fredy, explained everything perfectly, including what to wear and bring for each tour. On the tour days, our guides (Fredy and Juan Carlos) and driver (Juan Carlos) were great! very knowledgeable, considerate about our party, always helpful and ready to answer questions and meet the expectations (completely different expectations because we had different ages in our party (from 11 to 69 years)) of each party member. The rainbow mountain is awesome and is is really helpful to go with a guide that knows about the area, but also about hiking!!!

Excellent guide who stays with you for the entire day The Vinicunca one-day horse tour was fantastic. The friendly and informative Freddy guided us for the entire bus ride and mountain trek. He knew where to stand to get the best photos and made everything fun and accommodating. The horse ride up made it much easier to enjoy the final hike. Lunch was large and tasty. Door to door service.

Awesome Service and Tours Fernando and Patricia were SUPER responsive - usually responded to emails within 10 minutes!!. The arrangements they made for Cusco, Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, and surrounding areas were awesome. They were waiting for us at the airport and did everything we asked them. Our guide for the four days was Herberth and driver was Juan Carlos. Both were SUPER SUPER great. Juan Carlos was such an amazingly pleasant driver with cute stories. He also was a very safe driver. Herberth was very knowledgable and helpful. Took us all over the places with details about the history and details. We had friends who were not able to climb much and they accommodated us all.On the day we had planned to do rainbow mountain we did not feel great and emailed Fernando at 5am and he responded within 5 minutes with other options for us to do that day. Overall, if you are going to Peru and want to visit the historic sites, you SHOULD go with these people. They are SUPERB!!

Rainbow Trek and Horseback Riding A group of 7 of us did a One Day Rainbow Trek and Horseback Riding. Freddy was our guide and he was prompt and with us every moment of the journey. They were so accommodating to move the debrief meeting the night before because we had a food tour that evening. Freddy had so much energy, knowledge, and excitement to share with us about his native homeland. In addition, he made sure that we were well taken care of when one of us was actually sick from the altitude. It was such an amazing experience and Freddy made sure we got the best of it. Thank you! Highly recommend Kondor Path Tours.

MachuPicchu and Rainbow Moutain We worked with Kondor Path for two tours, of Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain. Everything they did was well organized, well documented, well communicated. The two guides and the driver were great, very friendly and knowledgeable. All were bilingual (English and Spanish). At Rainbow Mountain we rode horses to the base of the really steep part of the mountain (this saved some 7 km of hiking). But that last part was quite difficult! I'm glad I had prepared and gotten conditioned.
